A visit to Hertford for shopping offers a unique and varied experience. 

Its historic ambience provides the setting in which to explore any independent retailers offering clothing to antiques and jewellery to homewares and technology, alongside a range of well-known high street names, many housed in historic buildings.

There is a lively market every Saturday, together with a popular Farmers’ Market on the second Saturday of every months. 

From March until October there is a Street Food Market on the fourth Thursday of every month.

Hertford is also home to an array of independent delis, cafes and coffee shops so you will be spoilt for choice.

Hertford Town Council run a number of free community events throughout the year in the town centre as well as at Hertford Castle, including the very popular Food and Drink Festival and the Hertford Christmas Gala.
