Community Litter Picking Project
In a bid to support East Herts Council’s regular street cleansing regime, the Mayor of Hertford is proud to spearhead the Community Litter Picking Project.
The project is an initiative designed to encourage residents to volunteer to care for their community and local environment by collecting litter from their streets or local area.
You can choose an area which you wish to ‘adopt’ and the Town Council will supply the appropriate equipment, litter pickers, hi-vis jackets and rubbish sacks.
You can go out as often or as little as you choose, but just half an hour once a week will make a huge difference to the tidiness of the town.
Does litter in your local area cause a nuisance? Would you be prepared to help keep the road, footpath or green area near your house clean and tidy?
If you would like to take part in the project, please register your interest by contacting Hertford Town Council on 01992 552885 or emailing customerservices@hertford.gov.uk.
An officer will then be in touch to arrange a time to meet with you for an informal chat and a health and safety briefing.
