The Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Sue Barber said “Each year, Remembrance Sunday allows us to pause and reflect on the huge sacrifice that so many have made over the years by laying down their lives not only in the two World Wars, but also in recent conflicts. It was a privilege to have the Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ at the service in addition to representatives from the Royal British Legion, armed forces and uniformed public services. Seeing veterans with their gleaming medals, cadets from the armed forces, and everyone from the police to cubs and brownies for the first time in the parade was spectacular. The amazing turnout from members of the public lining the streets as the parade came together at the centre of our County Town was a truly memorial and emotional experience.”
