On 20th March 2025, Hertford Town Council will host its Annual Town Meeting, to which we welcome all local residents to attend.
As well as sharing the highlights of the 2024/5 municipal year the Mayor of Hertford will also be hosting the 2025 Community Awards, where Hertford community heroes are both recognised and celebrated.
Nominations are now open and there are awards for individuals and/or organisations in the following categories:
1. The Mayor’s Community Award – 1 Individual Award and 1 Organisation Award
Recognising people or groups who:
- Bring Hertford together via community events, sports activities, youth clubs, etc.
- Volunteer in any capacity.
- Enhance the look or feel of the town in a positive way.
2. The Mayor’s Environmental Award – 1 Individual Award and 1 Organisation Award
Recognising people or groups who:
- Promote or deliver local environmentally sustainable schemes such as litter picking, hedge laying, river cleaning, planting, recycling, re-using, building bug hotels etc.
- Protect and enhance the natural environment.
- Increase biodiversity and/or support local nature and wildlife.
3. The Mayor's 'Spirit of Hertford' Award – 1 Individual Award
Recognising an individual who:
- Fosters the 'Spirit of Hertford' by celebrating the cultural and unique historical heritage of our County town through the arts, culture, music or sport.
To submit your nomination(s) please fill in the form linked from: https://www.hertford.gov.uk/mayor-of-hertford-community-awards/ before the closing date of 3rd March 2025. Forms are also available to pick up from the Town and Tourist Information Centre at 10-12 The Wash, Hertford.
Short-listed nominees will be invited to attend the Annual Town Meeting at Hertford Castle, on 20th March 2025, where the winners will be announced.
