On Monday 20th December the Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Bob Deering; Chairman of Community Services Committee, Cllr John Lynch and Vice Chairman of the Community Services Committee, Cllr Sue Barber opened a new pedestrian access at Hertford Town Council’s Cromwell Road Allotments Site.

This new access at the Ware end of the allotments site includes a graded pathway and kissing gate to link up with the existing footpath on the Meads.

The Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Bob Deering said ‘The Town Council are very excited to be able to open this new path to connect to the Kings Meads allowing for better access onto the nature reserve beyond the allotments site.  As part of the work at this new entrance we have also planted hedging and tree saplings supplied from The Woodland Trust for their ‘plant a tree’ programme’.

The Chairman of Community Services Committee, Cllr John Lynch MBE said ‘I am absolutely delighted that this project has been completed and give thanks to all involved in making this happen. I do hope that local residents are able to make use of this path and enjoy a walk to the Meads over the festive period.’
