HERTFORD TOWN COUNCIL AWARDS COMMUNITY & NEW HOMES BONUS GRANTS

Posted in Press Release
HTC Crest

Hertford Town Council’s Finance, Policy and Administration Committee met on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 where grants totalling £1,200 were awarded to Hertford Choral Society. The funding will help fund a Singing Workshop, a Conducting Master class and events for the visit of the Wildeshausen Choir.

The Chairman of Hertford Choral Society, Trish Galloway, said:

"These grants will allow us to take forward these exciting projects for Hertford Choral Society.  To quote our Musical Director - HCS is about to embark on one of the greatest works of the Western Classical canon - that piece is the Bach 'St Matthew Passion.'  This will be the focus of our Singing Workshop and Conducting Master class in February.  We are also making preparations for a long delayed visit from our friends in Wildeshausen, with whom we are of course twinned, for some wonderful singing together in May this year."

The Chairman of the Finance, Policy and Administration Committee, Cllr Robert Cinnamon, said:

"The Town Council is once again pleased to be available to help support a worthy local organisation with their exciting community events and as they reach out to our twinned town in Germany. There is still funding available for this financial year and we would encourage other local organisations to apply for funding before 16th February 2023 so these can be considered at the next meeting of the Committee."
