The Winning Windows Competition has now opened, and all of Hertford’s traders are invited to enter. The theme this year is ‘Deck the Halls’. It is hoped the competition will bring Christmas cheer to the town centre and encourage the community to support the local traders at this important time of year.
The competition is organised by Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre on behalf of Hertford Town Council. The Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Bob Deering, will have the unenviable task of choosing the three best dressed windows and will announce the winners the annual Christmas Gala on Friday 26th November
The three prizes are:
- £50 voucher donated by Hertford restaurant Dinnio
- £50 voucher donated by Hertford restaurant Proove
- A bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates
To enter, retailers should email The Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre, 10-12 The Wash, SG14 1PX) on tic@hertford.gov.uk and supply the business name, address, phone number, email address and contact name.
The deadline for entering the competition and completing the window displays is Wednesday 24th November as judging will take place shortly after this date in time for the announcement of the winners at the Christmas Gala Night.
The Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Bob Deering, said:
“Christmas in Hertford is such a special time of the year. Our local businesses and traders contribute so much to bring cheer and festive spirit to the town so I hope that as many of our local businesses as possible will take part in this year’s annual Winning Windows competition. We have had very many excellent entries in recent years, and I know that picking a winner this year will, for the best of reasons, once again be a very difficult decision.”
