Hertford Food & Drink Festival

Hertford Town Council is hosting its annual Food and Drink Festival throughout the county town on the weekend of Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July.  

The event kicks off on Saturday in the Town Centre with promotions and special offers from many of the town centre businesses. 

  • The Farmers Market will be selling local produce around Salisbury Square and Market Place
  • Mudlarks will be hosting workshops on growing your own vegetables,
  • Leaf Café have free cake samples and information about Children’s Tea Parties
  • Hertford Coffee Lab will be giving demonstrations on coffee roasting,
  • Tilly’s Gelato will have a guess the flavour competition with free samples of the mystery gelato, and,
  • Various stores will be offering an on-the-day discount for people who have scanned the QR code on posters around the town
    On Sunday, visitors are invited to attend the Hertford Castle Beer & World Food Festival with free entry from 12 noon – 6 pm. With a beer tent offering a selection of golden ales, bitters, porters, pale ales and local ciders, alongside a fully stocked bar with plenty of prosecco, cocktails, gins and wine, this event is not to be missed. 

With several world food stalls exhibiting, there is something for everyone. Get your taste buds singing with delicious catering offerings including Greek, Turkish, Punjabi, BBQ, Vietnamese, and Caribbean cuisines. There will also be live music throughout the afternoon for guests to enjoy.

Donations are welcome, for the Mayor of Hertford’s Appeal Fund, this year raising money for Mudlarks and Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust.

The Food and Drink Festival programme will be available to download from www.hertford.gov.uk/events.

 Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee Chairman, Cllr Ann Woodward, said: "We are delighted to host this event where there will be a warm welcome for everyone. We hope residents and visitors alike will enjoy a fun day out and make the most of the opportunity to buy some local produce and try delicious food and drink from around the world.”
