The Government announced on 14th June 2021 that the move to Step 4 of the Government Roadmap will not take place on 21st June 2021, as had been anticipated.
Hertford Town Council have therefore reviewed the planned events programme for the remainder of this calendar year. This review included seeking the views of Hertfordshire Police and considering the effective implementation of the requirements of Government Guidance in operating events. With the current restrictions on social distancing, the decision has been taken to cancel the following events:
- Hertford Castle Live screening of EURO 2020 Football Final on 11th July 2021
- Teddy Bears’ Picnic on 18th July 2021
Rock at the Castle 2021
Hertford Town Council has also taken to decision to postpone Rock at the Castle 2021 and, for one year only, replace it with the Hertford Castle Live Music Event. Guests can sit back and relax on the Castle Lawn and enjoy live music from local musicians. A variety of music performances including laidback pop and rock, funky music and modern, contemporary and upbeat sounds will take place throughout the day. Any further changes to the Government’s Roadmap will be kept under review in relation to this event. Hertford Town Council will be in touch with musicians regarding the new event shortly.
Hertford Town Council will work to make Teddy Bears’ Picnic and Rock at the Castle for 2022 bigger and better than ever.
In the meantime, Hertford Town Council are pleased that preparations are continuing for other events, and hope that many Hertford residents come along to enjoy a variety of other events in a safe and secure way.
