To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Hertford Town Council are supporting street parties within the county town, to encourage residents to come together within their neighbourhoods, build on community spirit and celebrate this momentous occasion.
The ‘Big Jubilee Lunch’ is part of the National Platinum Jubilee celebrations, on Sunday 5th June 2022, and will bring the Jubilee into the heart of every community, as people are invited to share friendship, food, and fun with their neighbours.
In support of this initiative, Hertford Town Council are providing FREE Street Party Packs to residents planning a celebratory street party over the Jubilee weekend.
The Street Party Packs will include sustainably sourced items to help residents bring their party to life, including party decorations including bunting, DIY street game ideas, a Royal-themed quiz, recipes, face paints, Jubilee themed chocolates and even a sample signature Jubilee cocktail, created and donated specifically for the event by 19/29 Agency.
Where possible Hertford Town Council have used local businesses to help supply the items for the Street Party Packs.
50 packs will be provided FREE of charge and will be available on a first come first served basis from Hertford Town and Tourist Centre in the town centre, as well as issued to the road closure applicants.
Chairman of Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said:
"The Platinum Jubilee is a great opportunity for people to come together within their local community, as we celebrate the extraordinary and long service of HM The Queen. I hope that Hertford Town Council’s street party packs will support events across the town, and help encourage neighbours to get together over the long weekend"
