The Code of recommended practice for local authorities on data transparency is intended to provide a high level but formal statutory basis to the local transparency agenda, support current sector standards and complement publication and disclosure requirements under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (SI 2004/3391).
