Kick of the festive season with the Hertford Castle annual Christmas Market. Set within the beautiful grounds the event boasts an array of Christmas market stalls offering homeware, crafts, jewellery, and much more! Perfect for those who like to shop early and local for Christmas.
There will be fairground rides and live entertainment to enjoy, and food and drink stands providing seasonal treats.
Plus, new for 2023 - "Storytime with Santa" - NOW SOLD OUT
However, due to popular demand there will be a Santa meet and greet on the main lawn 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm.

Entry information
The event is FREE of charge to attend, you are however welcome to donate to the Mayor of Hertford’s Charity Appeal Fund.
The Castle grounds can be accessed by foot at any of the following pedestrian gates: Castle Street, St Andrew Street Car Park, Main Castle Gate off The Wash or through the Moat Garden on Castle Street.
Parking
Unfortunately, there is no public parking at Hertford Castle (including disabled) but there are a number of car parks close to the Castle. Please click here for more information and map.
Amenities
Toilets are located to the side of the main lawn on the footpath by the Ashley Webb Shelter.
Disabled toilets & baby changing facilities are available inside the castle, please speak to a volunteer on the door for access.
First aid is located on the riverbank by the Ashley Webb shelter.
