Ecofest - 22nd September 2024

Hertford Eco Fest is a new event to raise awareness amongst as many people as possible, of the small changes we can all make to reduce our carbon footprint and save money; coming together to engage Hertford in a positive communal purpose.

A FREE event will be held at Hertford Castle on Sunday 22nd September from 12 noon till 4.00pm, as part of a two-week programme of Hertford town wide sustainability events. On the day, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of fun activities: music, crafts, food and drinks stalls, a fashion show, kayaking, junk modelling and garden games, alongside information and advice around environmental improvements and carbon reduction. Monday 9th September 2024 onwards - EcoFest event - Hertingfordbury St Mary 

A self-guided Churchyard Nature Trail with reflections and a Children's Tree Quest is available at: Hertingfordbury St Mary - Churchyard Trails. There are also some printed copies available in the church porch.


Sunday 15th September - Family Eco-Craft Afternoon - Hertford Baptist Church

3.00-5.00pm - Family Eco-Craft Afternoon, for those with children aged 3 - 10 years. Refreshments available. Price: £2 per family

Saturday 21st September - Environment Day - All Saints Church

Saturday 21st September - Hertford Eco Walk - from All Saints Church

Starting with a talk at 10.00am at All Saints Church, leaving at 11.15am with a walking route finishing at approximately 3.00pm.


Saturday 21st September - Riverside Audio Trail and Carers Walk - from Hertford Museum

A riverside trail in Hertford where you can listen to the creative writing soundscape created by artist Alice Blackstock to accompany the textile artwork Can You Draw a River?  Going live on 21st September, with a Carers walk meeting outside Hertford Museum at 10.30 am on Saturday 21st September. This will then run as a self-guided until 31st October. Printed maps are available from Hertford Library or downloadable from here.


Sunday 22nd September - Eco Fest - Hertford Castle

FREE event at Hertford Castle from 12 noon till 4.00pm. Visitors can enjoy a variety of fun activities: music, crafts, food and drinks stalls, a fashion show, kayaking, junk modelling and garden games, alongside information and advice around environmental improvements and carbon reduction. Friday 27th September - North Road Cycling Club Bike Ride

A FREE bike ride along the Cole Green Way to Four Rivers Café at Birch Green (approximately 8km). Led by members of the North Road Cycling Club, participants are invited to meet at the Hertford Castle grounds at 10am on Friday 27th September. Please bring your bike, a crash helmet and at least 1 spare inner tube for your bike. The ride is flat and almost traffic free but from an insurance perspective, North Road Cycling Hub advise cyclists join at their own risk.
